Have a thing for American V-twins, especially vintage ones? In touch with your inner daredevil? Here's the jacket for you.
From the days (before the Kardashians and Facebook) when biplane pilots stormed barns, and fearless (... or at least that's the impression they liked to give... ) stunt-riders rode the Wall of Death and raced, steel-shod and front-brake-less round cinder tracks... here's a classic American look.
It's a proper, uncompromising Sportrider jacket, stripped-down to the basics but armor-ready, and with the adjustable suede waist. Plain front and sleeves, and a Harley-Davidson orange flat-track inlay around the chest and biceps. Very traditional, very protective.
The CS5V is the same jacket, only Pro-perf. Pro-perf leather allows full-on airflow for those hot summer days and is exactly what we use on the Road Race suits we make for endurance races where staying comfortable and cool on even the hottest tracks is critical for maintaining concentration.
Naturally both versions accept the Streamliner vest.
The conceptual design brief for this project has always been that the armor is to stay in the correct position, regardless of the attitude, altitude and speed of the rider. In practice this means that the garment has to fit properly (snugly) and not expand when, for example, vents are opened.
The conceptual design brief for this project has always been that the armor is to stay in the correct position, regardless of the attitude, altitude and speed of the rider. In practice this means that the garment has to fit properly (snugly) and not expand when, for example, vents are opened.
The armor has to be imperceptible to the rider, so that the rider can move; it has to have a little give, which is why we have the patented Floating Armor System.
All these are lessons that come out of hard-won Roadrace experience.
